The products selected by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory for 2018 will be on show in Rome until 5 December at the Casa dell’Architettura (Acquario Romano)
The Abitare la Terra project from Cerasarda, the Gruppo Romani brand, by designer and ceramist Maria Luisa Brighenti, has been selected for the ADI DESIGN INDEX 2018, the prestigious publication issued annually by ADI, the Industrial Design Association, which showcases the very best in Italian design, selected by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory.
The ADI Design Index 2018 collection was presented on 20 November in Rome, in the splendid setting of the Casa dell’Architettura (Aquario Romano), in an exhibition which will remain on show to the public until 5 December (10 am to 6 pm, every day of the week).
“This is not only an important result, but also a great satisfaction for the company,” says Paolo Romani, Gruppo Romani’s CEO “because it recognises our commitment to research and innovation in technology and design and, above all, because the development of this project demanded a new synergy between all our production facilities, marking the start of a new path for growth with even more ambitious objectives.”
Abitare la Terra, included by the ADI Observatory in the material design and technologies section, employs a whole range of ceramic treatments to ensure unbeatable modularity, almost like a patchwork, as a homage to the traditions which govern all Cerasarda’s products. The collection is inspired by the warm, generous soil of Sardinia – an unprecedented collection of exceptional material quality, featuring harmonious colours and contrasts and exclusive decorative textures. A highly original ceramic proposal which marries craftsmanship – the designer’s characteristic handmade approach is the perfect match for Cerasarda’s traditions – with Gruppo Romani’s cutting edge technologies.
